Music and art is a huge part of what makes Fort Collins a great place to live.

Here are just a few of the local favorites that you can enjoy during the winter months.

Museum of Art

In the heart of downtown is the Museum of Art. This is a real treasure for Fort Collins. Located in the former Fort Collins Post Office, the building is a historic gem in itself. And inside the space is filled with rotating exhibits that will take your breath away by the beauty, make you stop and think about the world around you or educate you about society and your role in it. Admission is only $5.00 Adults, $4.00 Students/Seniors, $1.00 Youth 7-17 and kids 6 and under are FREE!

University Center for the Arts

Fort Collins is very fortunate to be the home of one of the best colleges in the nation: Colorado State University. Our community gets to enjoy all the spectacular performing arts that are thriving at CSU. You can enjoy a wide variety of music concerts, theatre productions, and dance programs throughout th e year. (Check out CSU’s newest addtion, The Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising. On display is CSU’s historic apparel and textiles collection!) Along with the exhibits and galleries, there are also free lectures on interesting topics.

Fort Collins Symphony

The Symphony is in its 70th season providing Fort Collins with an array of masterful performances. Each year the Symphony chooses a ‘theme’ to their concerts. This year concert-goers will hear the delights of the Platinum season with music from Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Mozart and more. Concerts feature guest musicians who are well-renowned. One of the most favorite concerts of the year is the Pops Concert in March. This year the Symphony will be performing well-known Sci-Fi favorites!

First Friday Art Walk

Come downtown on the 1st Friday of every month and enjoy a self-guided walking tour of the local art scene. Make it a special evening by coming out for dinner, and then visiting the various galleries, museums, and art-minded shops that stay open late for new showcases, interactive displays, and artist talks.

Music Venues

Fort Collins is becoming well-known for its music scene. In the summer we have concerts in Old Town Square and at the Lagoon at CSU. New West Fest is in August and the Gardens on Spring Creek just finished building their new amphitheater and we’re excited to see the lineup. Our very own Ace Gillett’s is currently under renovation but will be reopening soon with great live music. Check out these other music venues around town for upcoming shows: Washington’s, The Armory, Aggie Theatre, Avogadro’s, Hodie’s Half Note.

Enjoy all that Fort Collins has to offer for arts and music. You have plenty to choose from and will find some new favorite places to come back to again and again.
