Buy a Dog Bed, Help Save a National Park

Local business Pendleton is helping restore our national parks, one blanket at a time.

Summer in Northern Colorado is the perfect time to get outdoors and explore! We’re lucky enough to be just a stone’s throw away from Rocky Mountain National Park; home to some of the best hiking, wildlife watching, and mountaineering in the state.

Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park is definitely at the top of our list this year, and we’re excited to partner with one of Downtown’s best clothing brands to bring you something special!

Family-owned Downtown clothing brand, Pendleton, has been in business since 1863 and produces exceptional, 100% virgin wool clothing.

“You can see and feel the Pendleton passion for quality. See it in the intricate patterns of blankets inspired by Native American designs and legends. Feel it in the softness of the lightweight, luxurious 100% pure virgin wool clothing we produce. We’ve been a family-owned business for 150 years, and for 104 of those years we’ve been weaving world class woolens in our Northwest Mills.

Our expertise and technology have grown over the years, and we have translated that experience into a host of other luxury fabrics. But our legacy of quality will never change. You can rely on a Pendleton for a lifetime of comfort and beauty.” – Pendleton

Pendleton was kind enough to partner with us during the renovation of the hotel, and provided us with some extra special beds for our doggie photo shoot!

As a part of the National Parks Collection, these dog beds do more than make our dog models look good.

This year any Pendleton purchases made from the National Parks Collection go back to the restoration of the the Grand Canyon Depot, in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Grand Canyon!

“The Grand Canyon Depot is a National Historic Landmark constructed in 1910, nine years prior to the Grand Canyon’s official national park designation. The depot is one of three remaining structural log railroad depots in America and still serves an operating railroad. Originally built for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, it helped establish the rustic western sense of place for the Grand Canyon. The depot is one of the park’s “front doors,” serving not only as a major arrival point for thousands of visitors each year but a gathering site for over 100 years.” – Pendleton

Supporting our local and national parks gives us a chance to preserve a piece of the past, as well as the future. Pendleton is leading the way towards a better future for Rocky Mountain National Park, and beyond.

“Through licensed National Park Collection products we are proud to support two park restoration projects through a donation to the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks. So far, through Pendleton’s initiatives with park series blankets and collaboration partners, we are closing in on $750,000 dollars for two projects!” – Pendleton
