Fort Collins Weekend Getaway Itinerary For Beer Lovers

Friday

O’Dells is a great place to start the weekend. Sign up online for a Friday afternoon tour at 12, 1, 2 or 3:00 PM. They have a different food truck every day so you can also grab a bite. Then head downtown to Equinox at 133 Remington Street. This is a local favorite and has a great relaxed atmosphere. The taproom has free live music from local bands every Friday and Saturday from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Check out the events calendar to see who’s playing. After the music ends, walk ½ block to CooperSmith’s Pub & Brewery. Their Poolside Pub is a great place to hang out and enjoy delicious pub-style food. They’re open until 1:00 AM so you can finish the night up playing billiards, ping pong or shuffleboard.

Saturday

Rise and shine and head to the Backporch Cafe for a delicious homemade breakfast. Their menu serves up traditional omelets and some extra special burritos like the Dan Pat with smoked chicken. Even in the winter, Colorado has nice days so after breakfast, grab one of the bike share PACE bikes and hit the many paved trails. After making your way back, it’s time to spend the afternoon at New Belgium. You can book a tour online from 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM. The tours are very popular so don’t wait to grab your spot. If you’re looking for a brewery with some fun events, we recommend Gilded Goat Brewing. Their event calendar for November and December includes Thanksgiving Bingo, Hoppy Holidays and Beer & Macaron Pairing.

Sunday

While you’re in town, don’t miss breakfast at Lucille’s Creole Cafe. It’s in a quaint house on Howes Street and has the best southern dishes. Be sure to share a plate of beignets. Then it’s off to take the brewery tour at Budweiser on from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM. Stop by the Biergarten and enjoy the beautiful views of the Colorado mountains. Then finish off the weekend at DC Oakes on the south end of Fort Collins. Choose your favorite brew and pair it with a burger, big plate item or pick something from their “To Share” menu.

Have you ventured out to any of the spots we mentioned above? We’d love to hear about it!
