If you’re in town with the family, our top 3 best places to take the kids for a fun day out are:

Fort Collins Discovery Center

Fort Collins City Park

Fort Collins Fort Fun Center

But Fort Collins has tons more great activities for kids (and the kid-at-heart)! Here are a few of our favorite summertime activities for families.

Best Fort Collins Outdoor Family Activities

Spend your sunny, summer days, in the beautiful outdoors of Fort Collins!

Fort Collins has beautiful summers (with temperatures around 80°F and 90°F), but sometimes you just need a break from the heat!

Splash Pads

The best way to cool off is to take a trip to the splash pad in Old Town Square, just a short walk from the Armstrong Hotel. You can also take a short drive and visit the splash pad at Spring Canyon Park.

Poudre River & Fort Collins’ Whitewater Park

The Poudre river offers endless entertainment and ways to cool off! The new Whitewater Park provides the entire family safe access to the river. This man-made whitewater rapid park offers thrill-seekers the chance to raft down the rapids without having to travel up into the foothills, and is a great spot to watch the kayakers and rafters!

Sweet Treats

What kid (and big kid) doesn’t love ice cream! Try a sweet treat at Ben and Jerry’s, Old Town Churn, or Walrus Ice Cream. Flavors are always rotating, so be sure to go often and sample them all!

Our Favorite Downtown Fort Collins Ice Cream Flavors:

Blue Moon at Walrus Ice Cream

Chunky Monkey at Ben & Jerry’s

Space Cherry at Old Town Churn

Best Fort Collins Indoor Kid Activities
