Holiday Lights

The Downtown Holiday Lights were illuminated on Friday, November 4, 2022 with a lighting ceremony in Old Town Square. The lights are lit every night from the first week in November through Valentine’s Day. 22 block-faces of Downtown are illuminated with thousands of strands of brilliant white lights stretching through the alleyways, sidewalks, and tree-tops of historic Old Town Fort Collins!

Carriage Rides

If you want to really experience a Colorado winter downtown then think about booking a carriage or wagon ride through the heart of Old Town. Colorado Carriage and Wagon offers a variety of services including a carriage tour of Old Town. This is a great way to see the lights, and get a little history of Fort Collins while you’re at it.

Santa’s Workshop

If you have kids, or are a kid at heart, then make sure to stop at Santa’s Workshop in Old Town Square. Santa will be at his workshop up until Christmas Eve, and will be open daily from Noon-6:00pm. Santa is also fluent is Spanish and Sign Language.

Gardens At Spring Creek Lights Display

If you want to see something a little outside of Old Town, then head to Gardens at Spring Creek to see their light display. One of Fort Collins best holiday traditions, the Garden Lights has hundreds of thousands of LED holiday lights.

Explore a whimsical half-mile loop filled with glowing grapevines, towering flowerbeds, dancing color blossoms, and other imaginative displays made of hundreds of thousands of glittering lights! This year, look out for a fun new photo op inspired by the Butterfly House and other exciting additions.

Warm up with festive hot cocoa and other holiday offerings available for purchase at their full bar. Don’t miss Santa, who will be at The Gardens nightly through December 23, plus glow-in-the-dark circus performers, a Sugar Plum Furry dog troupe and other festive live entertainment on select nights.

Get Outside!

Enjoy the snow-covered landscape by taking part in some of the best winter activities in Northern Colorado: snowshoeing, fat biking, ice skating, cross country skiing and of course, sledding! Horsetooth Reservoir and Poudre Canyon are two of our favorite spots to take in the snowy surroundings while enjoying active outdoor activities.
