Last Minute Fort Collins Summer Activities

Thinking of heading to Fort Collins for a last minute summer getaway? There are plenty of ways to fit in some last-minute summertime activities in our Northern Colorado town. From outdoor activities to live music and great food, here are a few of our faves!

Enjoy a Downtown Patio

There’s no better way to enjoy the beautiful evenings than to sit back and relax on any number of patios around town. You can pick your favorite spot at restaurants, bars or breweries. Austin’s downtown or on Harmony Road both have great outdoor patio space and great food. Nestled at the bustling corner of College & Mountain, Avery is a newly opened spot serving casual, locally-sourced fare. Illegal Pete’s boasts a killer rooftop patio where you can sip a fresh marg and chow down on some Mexican food while watching the city from up high. Rio is another favorite spot for fresh Mexican that was recently renovated to include an outdoor patio. Last but of course not least, our very own Ace Café has a killer patio right on College Ave in front of the hotel. Open Weds – Sun, take the short stroll from your guest room for delectable brunch, cold cocktails and yummy dishes.

Find a Food Truck

If you look around, it won’t be hard to find a delicious Fort Collins food truck. New Belgium, Odell and Stodgy are some well-known places for food trucks to park. The Food Truck Rally happens at City Park each Tuesday through late September.

Walk or Bike on the Trails

The City of Fort Collins has an extensive trail system covering almost all corners of the City, along the foothills, and even between Fort Collins and Loveland. Take an evening walk along the Poudre River or grab a complimentary bike from our front desk and travel a short or long distance along the bike trail system!

Listen to a Live Band

Even though the weekly concerts in Old Town Square and at the CSU Lagoon have ended for the summer, there’s still plenty of music happening in Fort Collins. Visit The Magic Rat, Avogadro’s, Ace Gillett’s Lounge and Equinox Brewing for a great lineup of bands from local talent and beyond.
