The spring season has arrived here in Northern Colorado, evident in the rising temperatures, budding flowers and buzz about town! Patio weather has returned, and it’s the perfect time to plan a little getaway to Fort Collins. We put together a list of 5 things to add to your list when you visit this spring, so read on and feel free to add these to your next itinerary!
Grab one of our complimentary bikes and hop on one of the many pathways throughout town and beyond. Fort Collins is a Platinum Level Bicycle Friendly Community (1 of only 5 in the nation!) and boasts over 285 miles of biking trails (paved and unpaved) to fit all your biking desires. After enjoying the beautiful sights, make a pit stop on your way back to the hotel into one of our many craft breweries about town for an ice cold draft on the patio and soak in the sunshine.
One of our favorite pastimes, weekend brunch is the perfect way to kick off the day with a memorable meal. There are some iconic spots to enjoy brunch in Fort Collins, including Lucile’s, the Silver Grill Café and The Farmhouse at Jessup Farm. Not to toot our own horn, but our weekend brunch at Ace Gillett’s and Ace Café is pretty phenomenal! Featuring favorites like Crab Cake Benedict, Smothered Breakfast Burrito and The Wafnut (if you know, you know), plus bottomless mimosas and handcrafted cocktails, it’s become a favorite around town. Join us for a special Easter Brunch on Sunday, March 31st, or check out our events calendar here.
Known for our arts and culture scene, spring is a great time to roam about Fort Collins and explore local art in the beautiful outdoor weather. Download or bookmark a map from Art in Public Places for a self-guided tour throughout town to explore local art created to beautify the Fort Collins community. Enjoy the many painted wall murals, planters, sculptures, and our favorite, painted Pianos About Town – often played by local passerbys!
Springtime is when the animal babies (hey chicks!) are making their appearance, and with all the wonderful farms near Fort Collins, it’s a great time to witness these cuties in person. Fort Collins offers hands-on farm experiences for children and families of all ages. The Farm at Lee Martinez Park is a favorite for locals and visitors alike, the farm has provided hands-on family fun since 1985. Learn about farm life and the animals that call it home through an educational and interactive experience.
Our town is on the up and up and that means live music is returning! Now open until midnight on Fridays & Saturdays, Ace Gillett’s has our resident DJ spinning vintage vinyl Thursday – Saturday evenings, and our resident pianist Mark Sloniker plays on Sundays at 6pm. Stop in early for Happy Hour (4-6pm) and settle into one of our couches or belly up to the bar for a relaxing evening of great food, handcrafted cocktails and soothing sounds.
