Fort Collins is about to get weird— in the best way possible. Tour De Fat is returning for its 25th year of wacky costumes, bikes, and fun on August 23rd, 2025. This beloved FoCo tradition kicks off with a costumed bicycle parade followed by a daytime party at New Belgium Brewing. This year’s theme is “come as you are,” so embrace your truest self!
This annual event takes its name from New Belgium’s Fat Tire Beer and began in Fort Collins, home to the brewery. Tour de Fat raises money for local bike non-profits, and this year, proceeds from beer sales will support Bike Fort Collins, the Overland Mountain Bike Association, the Fort Collins Bike CO-OP, and Send Town Bike Club.
The day of festivities begins at 9:30 AM at City Park, located 2 miles from The Armstrong. The bike parade will kick off here and loop around Mountain Avenue until 11:30 AM. Don’t forget to dress to impress!
New Belgium Brewing opens its doors at 11. The entertainment begins at noon, with this year’s headliner being Murder by Death. Expect delicious food trucks, cold beer, and lots of entertainment— including clowns and comedians!
Every year, Tour De Fat features beloved contests and games. See how slow you can pedal in the “Slow Ride” contest, ride an art bike in the Bike Pit, and dance your heart out for the chance to win a bike.
This event is family friendly, but dogs are not allowed due to the large crowds.
Ride a bike! With big crowds and plenty of beer, biking is the best way to get there. Bicycle parking will be available in the field across from the brewery.
The Armstrong Hotel loans out cruisers to guests on a first come, first serve basis. Stop by the front desk if you’re interested, and our team will assist you.
The Fort Collins Bicycle Library is also a great resource located in the Downtown Transit Center building. We recommend making a reservation to loan one of their bikes.
If you prefer to drive, there will be a parking lot on the west side of Linden Street.
Tour De Fat is all about the fun! Admission is free, and all that’s asked is that you show up in a costume with your bike. Both are optional, but add to the fun.
